Yet, during the time he was working, there were other artists in the same field, commissioned by museums to paint and sculpt the same creatures but who are largely ignored, often uncredited and whose names have mostly disappeared into obscurity.
This thread explores these artists who are usually eclipsed by Knight, collating information – often scarce – to bring them out from under Knight’s shadow and give them the recognition, if belatedly, they deserve.
